It is a rare, out-of-production treasure that is hand-built from solid beechwood, using environmentally-friendly paints. A toy of lasting quality that will inspire the imaginations of generations of young (3+) railroaders or make-believers.This hard-to-find BRIO wooden railway engine from 2001 has a wooden frame and body painted in blue with a yellow-painted wooden dome, plus many printed-on details.The locomotive has quality stainless steel wheel hubs and magnetic coupling hardware (on both ends in this case). The smokebox has rivet and door detail.This style of engine would be called a 'tank' engine as it has the square-ish boxes mounted on either side of the boiler, giving it a wider, blockier appearance. This type of engine tends to be shorter and runs without a tender car.The six-wheel configuration with three per side would be referred to as an 0-6-0.BRIO wooden railway items are the true original, but are also compatible with Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends track and pieces too.
